2020 Gratitudes for Shared Streets

To our Neighborways CommUNITY,

Thank you all for your continued support, collaboration, strength, and inspiration.

Our work on #sharedstreets in 2020 provided us purpose and launched Neighborways into our next phase of growth.

To celebrate, we offer you this uplifting and heartwarming video that captures the essence of why we do this work, and all the fun we had along the way.

We will never forget this year, and the opportunity it gave us to rethink and reevaluate what is  essential to our health, happiness, and well being.

We believe it is essential for ALL people to feel safe and welcome in public spaces; to have choices for how we move around our communities; and to provide access to opportunities through safer walking, biking, transit, and vehicle infrastructure.

We’ve had the great honor to work with communities to pilot shared streets and spaces, and to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and empowering underrepresented voices through community art. We are more committed than ever to bringing people together to imagine the possibilities and help make safer, more inclusive, and beautiful public spaces a reality for everyone.

We learned so much with our community partners, who we commend for their willingness to try new things and learn from what worked, and didn’t work.

Cheers to celebrating our blessings, visioning a brighter future together, and taking courageous action one step at a time. Looking forward to reconnecting and celebrating in person when we can. Until then, we invite you to follow along our journey and stay in touch as we grow.

Wishing you health, happiness, and connection this year and always.

In gratitude,

The Neighborways Team
