Cambridge’s First Public Patios

Featured projects

SomerNOVA Alley Activation

Working with the local makerspace community to re-imagine this busy alley as a shared street and art oasis, with greenery, seating and gathering spaces. Our DIY self-watering planters with street trees and native pollinators are keeping up nicely after their first winter.

Cambridge Public Patios

Neighborways worked with the City of Cambridge to plan, design and implement two unique public patios in the heart of Inman Square as part of the City’s Public Space Lab initiative.

Chelsea Division Street Neighborway

One of the countries largest asphalt art projects helped transform this one-way alley into an art-filled pedestrian corridor. Artistic thermoplastic crosswalks, wall murals, and asphalt art to tie it all together, we hired over 25 local artists and community building for this unique project.

Dimick Street intersection

Residents initiated this street beautification, worked with us on the design and painted it during a fun community block party.

Everett’s Beautification Way

Working with City of Everett, we helped brighten up an alley by Everett High school with magnolia trees and a mural designed by local teachers and painted by students and neighbors.

Elmhurst Street asphalt art

Working with Boston Traffic Dept, we helped local artists and residents beautify their Dorcester street.
